This week, we have seen changes to our local pandemic response with the transition to Tier 3<\/a>, as well as broader changes with the further easing of restrictions with regard to quarantine requirements. Please refer to yesterday\u2019s message from the Metro North Incident Controller for details on this.<\/h4>\n

Please note that Metro North facilities are still considered vulnerable, and therefore will continue to work through the Critically Essential Worker requirements for returning close contact staff to work.\u00a0Please contact your line manager if you are a close contact, asymptomatic and can return to work.<\/p>\n

Please continue to be diligent with social distancing, hand hygiene, PPE, and staying home if unwell. Face masks must be worn as part of Tier 3 requiring all staff involved in direct clinical care to wear P2\/N95 masks and goggles, and all other staff to wear a surgical mask. Face-to-face training can resume where essential with a focus on virtual training where possible.<\/p>\n

Executive Walkarounds (including a Shout out!)<\/h2>\n

This week, Director of Allied Health Ewan Kinnear and I took the opportunity to visit Admissions, Switchboard and the Transit Lounge. These busy services are often the first or final point of contact for patients and visitors with our hospital, so play an important role in influencing people\u2019s opinions about our facility. I commend staff in these areas for the wonderful job they do in making sure our patients and visitors have a professional, caring and positive experience of TPCH. A special shout out to the Admissions staff for their extra work in fielding additional front-of-house inquiries from patients and visitors in the absence of our Charlies Angels volunteers due to COVID-19 restrictions. Well done!\u00a0 <\/p>\n
