Kilcoy Hospital Auxiliary Fete returns next month<\/p><\/div>\n

It\u2019s on! The Kilcoy Hospital Auxiliary Fete will make a welcome return to the events calendar next month, promising to be bigger and better than previous years.<\/h4>\n

Kilcoy Auxiliary\u2019s General Secretary Lesley Lafferty said the highly anticipated event would be held on Saturday 28 May at the Kilcoy Hospital campus. It will start at 9am with the auction from midday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team has been busy selling raffle tickets via the local IGA and are genuinely excited to be able to re-connect with the Kilcoy Hospital community,\u201d Lesley said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur raffle\u2019s first prize includes a large hand-made quilt that is lovingly made and donated by the ladies of our local sewing clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese quilt raffles bring in at least a third of our monies raised per year which helps us to provide our goods and services to the Kilcoy Hospital patients.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough Kilcoy is a small hospital, the Auxiliary is big on having a personal approach and relishes the opportunity to inform the community about the excellent care our local hospital and staff provide for their patients.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other attractions will include cakes and food for sale, displays from various community groups, health information and updates, supervised gym equipment for children, the local ukulele group providing light entertainment, and a surprise parcel stall.<\/p>\n

Despite the pandemic, the Auxiliary continued their strong support of the hospital.<\/p>\n

Members are working with Operations Coordinator David Payne to install heating elements in the outdoor patient courtyard, which will make it a perfect spot to get some fresh air with breakfast on a crisp Kilcoy winter\u2019s morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want the patients to be able to have some social and quality time with family and other patients during their convalescence,\u201d Lesley said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be more comfortable and health appropriate seating.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we raise enough money at the fete, we might just have enough time to organise their installation before this year\u2019s winter truly sets in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Most years, the Auxiliary has two major fundraisers although COVID-19 has limited options.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year we will have our ete, which will be bigger and better, and we\u2019ll see what happens after that for the possibility of another fundraising function later in the year,\u201d Lesley said.<\/p>\n<\/div>
