As you may have seen on the coffee cups at Zouki or from the cupcakes<\/a>\u00a0Barb Williams has been handing out –\u00a0it’s DonateLife Week<\/a>.<\/h4>\n

Right now, there are more than 1,700 Australians on the organ transplant waitlist. One person’s donation can take as many as seven people off that list. If you haven’t already, please consider taking one minute to register as an organ and tissue donor<\/a>. If you are already registered, talk to your family and let them know as well.\u00a0DonateLife Week is the perfect time to have those conversations.<\/p>\n

Code Yellow<\/h2>\n

We called a Code Yellow on Monday after some water pipes that supply our fire systems were damaged. The pipes were unexpectedly damaged during minor earthworks for the Emergency Department’s paediatric upgrade.<\/p>\n

The situation was very well handled by all involved, and in particular by our BEMS, Infrastructure, and Facility Services teams. Water supply was restored to the fire hydrants in short order, and by Monday night, the sprinkler system had water again too, allowing us to stand back from a Code Yellow on Tuesday.\u00a0Looking back on the response, it’s another great example of how\u00a0we are stronger when we work together.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

July #IamRedcliffe<\/em> Team of the Month<\/h2>\n

Congratulations to this month’s #IamRedcliffe <\/strong><\/em>Team of the Month, the Nursing Support Unit.\u00a0The Nursing Support Unit received this month’s award for the way they have helped clinical teams across the entire facility.<\/p>\n

Congratulations also to our other nominees this month, including Louise Watkins, the Transit Lounge, the Nurse Education Team, and the SOPD Gastroenterology team.<\/p>\n

COVID-19 update<\/h2>\n

We’re still seeing lots of staff unable to attend work each day for COVID-19 reasons. To help everyone understand their obligations if they are a close contact or test positive, we now have easy to follow fact sheets available:<\/p>\n
