\nAdjunct Professor Queensland University of Technology<\/strong><\/p>\nProfessor Cate Cameron is a Principal Research Fellow in the Jamieson Trauma Institute and Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology. She has 30 years of clinical and research experience, with a PhD in Epidemiology and primary interest in injury prevention and trauma outcomes research, using data linkage methods.<\/p>\n
Prof Cameron was the inaugural staff member of the Jamieson Trauma Institute.\u00a0 Prior to joining JTI in 2017, Prof Cameron was an Australian National Health and Medical Council (NHMRC) Research Fellow recipient. Prof Cameron\u2019s research includes outcomes following burn injuries, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, using data linkage to determine opioid dispensing patterns after injury (CODI and CODI-II studies), as well as injury prevention research with the After P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth) booster study.\u00a0 Some of her previous international work included European Union funded research on Violence against Children (VAC) in Afghanistan. Prof Cameron is currently supervising several PhD candidates at Queensland University of Technology and University of Queensland.<\/p>\n
Prof Cameron has been an expert advisor for Disability Services Queensland, Queensland Health and Parliament with regards to Brain Injury service delivery, State Trauma Planning and consultation for the development of the National Injury Insurance Scheme (NIIS).<\/p>\n
