We are pleased to invite you to attend the inaugural Southeast Queensland Disaster Alliance Symposium. The State-of-the-Art Disaster Symposium is a two-day forum dedicated to advancing knowledge, innovation, and collaboration in disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response, and recovery.<\/p>\n

As the frequency and complexity of disasters continue to increase, the symposium brings together thought leaders, practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers to examine emerging challenges and share cutting-edge solutions across disciplines and sectors involved in disaster management.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The symposium will be conducted over two days. The first day will feature keynote addresses from leading authorities and internationally recognised experts, providing strategic insight and thought leadership. The second day offers a unique, hands-on learning experience, designed to translate strategy and evidence into practice.<\/p>\n

Through high-calibre presentations, interactive dialogue, case studies, and critical reflection, the symposium will foster informed discussion, strengthen partnerships, and inspire action toward more resilient communities and systems. We invite all attendees to engage fully, challenge assumptions, and contribute to shaping the future of disaster management and resilience in our beautiful state of Queensland.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Venue: RBWH Education Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n

This\u00a0one\u2011day interactive workshop explores three mass casualty scenarios the health system may face. Attendees from all disciplines will participate in facilitated group sessions, examining the surge in healthcare demand at a designated time point in the response. Each scenario is independent, uniquely designed and delivered using a range of teaching styles. Delegates will work through all three scenarios across the day, concluding with an opportunity to compare and contrast responses, decision\u2011making, and system impacts, supporting shared multidisciplinary learning.<\/p>\n

While attendance at the Symposium on September 24 is encouraged, it is not a prerequisite for joining this workshop.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
