$90,000 in funding awarded to mental health after trauma projects<\/h1>\n

The Jamieson Trauma Institute has awarded $90,000 in seed funding through the Rehabilitation and Outcome Measurement Theme<\/b><\/p>\n

The JTI Rehabilitation and Outcome Measurement Theme is committed to improving mental health following trauma<\/b><\/p>\n

The JTI \u201cMental Health after Trauma\u201d grant round was launched at the \u201cMental Health Disorders after Trauma\u201d workshop on 26th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2020 as a key initiative of the Rehabilitation and Outcome Measurement Theme. An independent panel of seven panel members, chaired by the JTI Chair of Rehabilitation, Professor Ross Young, assessed thirteen grants.<\/p>\n

The successful projects were:<\/p>\n

  • Feasibility of an early intervention to prevent persistent traumatic stress reactions in young children admitted to intensive care.<\/em>
    \nDr Belinda Dow, The University of Queensland<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Co-design and implementation pilot of a post trauma electronic paediatric psychosocial screen.<\/em>
      \nDr Bronwyn Griffin, Griffith University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • UR-TOPIC Understanding Recovery and Tracking Outcomes of Post Intensive Care<\/em>
        \nMiss Nicole Brigg, Royal Brisbane and Women\u2019s Hospital:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The grant recipients presented a brief overview of their projects at a recent JTI Research Advisory Committee meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>
