The award, named in memory of Bill Crawford, was presented by Professor Ross Crawford on the weekend at the Gold Coast meeting. Andrew is completing a PhD at the Queensland University of Technology on orthopaedic infection while working as a clinical research fellow and Principal House Officer at the Jamieson Trauma Institute and Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women&#8217;s Hospital. The research project was completed at the AO Research Institute in Davos, Switzerland, and uses preclinical in vitro and animal models to investigate the use of bacteriophages as a novel treatment for infectious complications following orthopaedic surgery.
