The main entrance and the Emergency Department entrance are both off Kropp Street and the hospital car park. Additional parking is available on the street.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><h2>Visiting hours and wards<\/h2>\n<div id=\"kilcoy-visiting-hours\">\n<p>Visiting hours are 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 8pm (rest time 2pm-3pm), seven days. If you need to visit or stay during these hours, or if a patient needs or wants extra rest time, please speak with the Nurse Unit Manager who will help find a solution that is in the best interest of each patient.<\/p>\n<p>There is a maximum of two visitors at a time.<\/p>\n<p>There may be times when visitors are asked to leave the ward so that treatment can be provided, and we appreciate everyone\u2019s cooperation and understanding. As a visitor, we ask you to always remember to keep noise to a minimum and wear a mask while you are at the hospital. Children must be always accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\" id=\"kilcoy-visiting-toilets\"><h2>Toilets<\/h2>\n<p>Toilets and disabled toilets are available. Please ask our staff for directions.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><div id=\"kilcoy-food-drinks\">\n<h2>Food and drinks<\/h2>\n<p>A coffee machine and soft drink vending machine are available for visitors and patients. There are no on-site food options for visitors.<\/p>\n<h2>Bringing food for patients<\/h2>\n<p>We understand some patients prefer their own food. Please note we do not take responsibility for food that is brought in by visitors for patients. A fridge is available near the ward to store food. We ask visitors who wish to bring food for patients to choose low risk food and check with staff before giving it to their friend\/relative. Due to their health condition, some patients may become very unwell if they eat the wrong food at the wrong time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-5\"><h2>Your appointment (outpatients)<\/h2>\n<p>Your <a href=\"https:\/\/metronorth.health.qld.gov.au\/kilcoy\/patients-and-visitors\/your-appointment\">outpatient appointment<\/a> is to see a specialist or clinician about your condition without being admitted into hospital.\u00a0You may have an outpatient appointment before and\/or after your admission to hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-6\"><h2>Expectations on entry<\/h2>\n<div id=\"expectations-on-entry\">\n<p>We&#8217;re committed to delivering excellent patient-centred care and high-quality health services and ask that you treat our staff with respect.<\/p>\n<p>To provide a safe and comfortable environment where patients, visitors and staff are treated with respect and dignity, the following behaviours are not acceptable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aggressive behaviour, harassment and intimidation<\/li>\n<li>Rude or threatening language or name calling<\/li>\n<li>Physical attacks to people or property<\/li>\n<li>Obscene, racist, sexist or demeaning language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Refusal to comply with these behaviour expectations may result in removal or discharge from the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Our staff are required to report all incidents. Security officers are available 24\/7 and can be called in any situation where people feel threatened or unsafe and, in some situations, police will be called. Please ask your family and friends not to visit if they are sick. Find out how you can protect yourself and your loved ones by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/conditions\/all\/prevention\/hand-hygiene\/index.html\">hand washing for hygiene<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-9\"><div class=\"fusion-menu-anchor\" id=\"smoke\"><\/div>\n<h2>Smoke free hospital<\/h2>\n<p>Smoking is not permitted on the hospital grounds.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qld.gov.au\/health\/staying-healthy\/atods\/smoking\/laws\/index.html\">Queensland Tobacco Laws<\/a> ban smoking at hospitals and on campus grounds within 5 metres of its boundary.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a patient who smokes and want to give up, we can help you with free Nicotine Replacement Therapy or alternatives. Please ask your clinical staff for advice on treatment or phone the anonymous and confidential <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quitnow.gov.au\/\">QUITLINE<\/a> service on <strong>131 848<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We strongly advise that you do not leave the ward area to smoke. Leaving the ward is at your own risk and against the advice of your medical team.
