It\u2019s a special place to work and everyone looks out for each other. I felt so comfortable it was almost like having a home birth,\u201d Hayley said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople would often ask me if I thought it would be strange having my colleagues see me giving birth, but I felt so safe and cared for it mitigated any potential embarrassment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing a patient and seeing things from the other side was strange, but it was also comforting to know how much impact midwives can have on patients, their families and their experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kit was born on 14 April 2025 weighing 4.3kgs, almost a year after Hayley\u2019s father, Stuart, tragically passed away from brain cancer.
