Apprentice carpenter helping keep Caboolture Hospital running smoothly<\/h1>\n

Jasmine Brady is a first-year apparentice at Caboolture Hospital<\/p><\/div>\n

A passion for building and strong determination led Jasmine Brady to begin her carpentry career at Caboolture Hospital, where she is working as a first-year apprentice carpenter.<\/h4>\n

Jasmine helps maintain essential infrastructure across the hospital, supporting the safe and smooth operation of facilities used by staff and patients every day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assist with maintaining different parts of the hospital that help keep everything running safely and smoothly,\u201d Jasmine said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat can be anything from moving and installing furniture to fixing doors, locks or windows, patching walls or completing small upgrades to offices and rooms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so much variety within the role and no two days are the same, which makes it really exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jasmine began her carpentry apprenticeship in 2021, but it ended after six months when the small company she worked for closed, leaving her searching for another opportunity to continue her trade.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took me almost five years to be able to get back into the building trade,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Jasmine\u2019s passion for construction began at a young age and continues to motivate her each day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always loved planning and building projects that I can be proud of,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an awesome feeling to look back at the end of the day and see what you\u2019ve completed. It\u2019s even better knowing that the projects I help finish improve this facility and make people\u2019s lives a little easier, no matter how small.\u201d<\/p>\n

While working in a traditionally male-dominated trade can present challenges, Jasmine says resilience and self-belief have helped her push forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust getting the opportunity to do the job in the first place can be difficult, but it\u2019s about believing in yourself and knowing the right opportunity will come along,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Jasmine says she is also inspired by other women working across the Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have some great women working here including Cass and Beth in the gardeners\u2019 team, and another Beth in the painters\u2019 team,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have a wealth of knowledge and it\u2019s awesome to work alongside such strong and resilient women who encourage me to keep pushing myself and getting better every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Jasmine has big ambitions for her career in the building industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy goal is to become a qualified carpenter, get my builder\u2019s licence and hopefully one day run my own residential building company with my own crew,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
