Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma In Youth

P.A.R.T.Y P.A.R.T.Y. is an in-hospital injury prevention program run state-wide across many Queensland Hospitals including:

  • Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
  • Gold Coast University Hospital
  • Sunshine Coast University Hospital
  • Rockhampton Hospital
  • Toowoomba Hospital
  • Princess Alexandra Hospital
  • Logan Hospital
  • Gympie Hospital
  • Townsville Hospital
  • Cairns Hospital.

In Australia, traumatic injury is the leading cause of death in people under the age of 45. Young people in this age group are grossly overrepresented in injury and trauma statistics, both in terms of death and long-term disability. Road trauma is still one of the most common causes of mortality and catastrophic injury in youth.

When you attend a P.A.R.T.Y. program you will see what it's really like to be a trauma patient. Through interactive presentations and simulated clinical scenarios, participants will meet health professionals, emergency services personnel (e.g. ambulance officers), and people who have experienced trauma and survived, often with significant disabilities.

Expressions of Interest are distributed to schools in July/August for the year ahead. Bookings for all sites are made at the Statewide Office in Brisbane. For bookings or general enquires please contact the State-wide P.A.R.T.Y. office.
