Metro North celebrates Australia Day winners

Metro North Hospital and Health Service has awarded 10 Australia Day awards for excellence today.

The awards recognise people across Metro North who demonstrate commitment to our organisational values of teamwork, respect, compassion, integrity and high performance, and have consistently gone above and beyond in their various roles to improve patient outcomes and support their colleagues

Congratulations to:

Tanya Beaumont – Nursing Director of Special Projects, Community and Oral Health Directorate

For ongoing commitment to making a difference in people’s lives through strong values, discipline and determination.

Jacob Seden – Security Officer, RBWH

For demonstrating Metro North’s values every day and showing true professionalism by proving moral support to colleagues at any time

Shirley Anastasi – Director of Governance and Quality, Mental Health

For constantly demonstrating high performance in all projects and being an advocate for mental health.

Michelle Cope – Director of Clinical Health Information Unit, Redcliffe

For her dedication to innovation and improvement of health information and for always striving for better across Metro North.

Dr Mark Appleyard – Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, RBWH

For demonstrating exemplary leadership through Clinical Councils and ongoing dedication development of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at RBWH.

Dr Robert Franz – Director of Surgery, TPCH

For always providing advice and guidance to all colleagues and demonstrating an ongoing commitment for better patient outcomes through multidisciplinary teams.

Veronica McDonald – Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skills, RBWH

For being a strong nurse role model in advocating for patients while articulating the essence of our Metro North values for almost 30 years.

Carolyn Wharton – Health Consumer, Caboolture

For providing ongoing valuable consumer advice and always treating everyone with respect and dignity to produce a true ‘Caring Together’ environment.

Dr Del Hinckley – VMO Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, RBWH

For exemplary leadership, extensive commitment and for being a pioneer in plastic and reconstructive surgery and on-going dedication to educating and training future generations.
