Director of Research and Education, Dr Joel Dulhunty, has so far raised more than $4,000 on his Big Ride for Redcliffe.<\/p>\n

Joel is riding 2,500 kilometres on a bike from Cairns to Redcliffe, raising money along the way to support a new research position at Redcliffe Hospital.<\/p>\n

So far, Joel says his ride has taken him through sugarcane fields, rainforests, and over lots of river crossings and steep hills on 4×4 tracks.<\/p>\n

\u201cCycling the 266km inland route from Cooktown to Mareeba took us through Annan River and Black Mountain National Parks and long stretches of eucalypt woodland.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaces to stop were few, however we were treated to delicious bananas and papaya at Lakeland and restful stops at Palmer River and Mount Carbine,\u201d Joel said.<\/p>\n
