\"\"Community and Oral Health celebrated a very important National Volunteer Week with our cherished volunteers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Community Connections Officer Leanne Delaney said it was a very special occasion for the directorate as we haven\u2019t been able to come together for a while due to COVID-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was also the perfect opportunity to thank all of those volunteers who had decided to hang up their volunteering boots over the last few years,\u201d Leanne said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn total, we acknowledged and thanked former volunteers who had built up a combined total of 200 years of volunteering, support and compassion to our Community and Oral residents, patients and visitors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Our volunteers are part of six million\u00a0volunteers across Australia who deliver 600 million\u00a0hours of volunteering\u00a0each year.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur volunteers have always willingly and selflessly obliged without any hesitation or thought,\u201d Leanne said.\u00a0\u201c For that, on behalf of Community and Oral Health, I would like to say a sincere and heart-felt thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Community and Oral Health volunteers have support audited and way finding activities, events such as NAIDOC Day, ANZAC Day and expos, and be involved in accreditation processes.<\/p>\n

They have driven bus outings for residents, led social activities, assisted with consumer surveys and cared for client gardens. And, finally they have a been a listening ear and constant companion for many of our residents and patients.<\/p>\n
