\"CabooltureConstruction activities on the up and up: Clinical services building level four\u00a0concrete pours underway.<\/h2>\n

Despite a disruptive start to the year, construction activity on the two main construction sites, the new Clinical Services building and the multi-storey carpark, is picking-up pace.<\/p>\n

A steady flow of cement trucks to site has ensured work on the level four\u00a0floor slab in the new five storey Clinical Services building has now started. Similarly, concrete pours for the level three\u00a0floor slab on the multi-storey carpark site are well underway.<\/p>\n

Concrete pours to create the ground beams for the new BEMS building have commenced. The ground beams rest directly on the concrete piles and serve as the building\u2019s foundation.<\/p>\n

The project team and the hospital continue to work in partnership designing and delivering operational commissioning activities. The Operational Commissioning team is busy organising the move planning process and supporting staff through the change. Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\"CabooltureThe Over 50s Village Craft Group at Bongaree on Bribie Island recently donated crocheted blankets and knitted toys for patients at Caboolture Hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n

St John Caboolture Hospital Volunteer Coordinator Leisa Kachel said fidget blankets were specifically made for the dementia patients in the GLAD unit based on advice received from nurses working with patients in the ward.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe craft group have added pompoms, finger puppets, soft animals and bits and bobs to the blankets,\u201d Leisa said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis offers different sensory and stimulation play options for the patients while they’re in hospital. These blankets are gifted to the patients and will go home with them when the patient leaves.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
