Our medical interns became the stars of the show at a media event with the Health Minister and Chief Health Officer. Fronting the cameras at a press conference were new interns Dr Benjamin Dilda, Dr Charlotte Lovejoy, and Dr Michaela Van Raders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the Minister and CHO had provided the daily COVID-19 update, attention turned to the interns, who were part of the 795 starting with Queensland Health this year.<\/p>\n

Dr Charlotte Lovejoy told the assembled media what an exciting time it was to be starting her career as a junior doctor.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot many doctors can say that they\u2019ve trained during a global pandemic,\u201d Dr Lovejoy said.<\/p>\n

Dr Van Raders began her internship in the emergency department. She said it was a privilege to treat patients and have them trust her with their care.<\/p>\n

This year Redcliffe Hospital welcomed 30 medical interns.<\/p>\n<\/div>
