Today is the celebration of Doctor\u2019s Day and I would like to mark this special occasion by recognising and thanking the 274 doctors across CKW for your dedication and hard work.<\/h4>\n

The observance of Doctors\u2019 Day dates back to 1933 to celebrate the anniversary of the first administration of anaesthesia by Dr Crawford Long in Georgia in 1842. Dr Long used ether to anaesthetise a patient to surgically remove a tumour from the patient\u2019s neck.<\/p>\n

Our medical colleagues are a passionate, dedicated and compassionate group who contribute greatly to the healthcare demands of our community, and I would like to thank them. I would also like to acknowledge the families, partners and loved ones who support them to do their demanding roles.<\/p>\n

So, if you get the chance today, please say thank you to your local medical teams<\/p>\n
