The first quarter of the year has been significant for our oral health services, bedded service and broader care we provide across the community.<\/h4>\n

At the outset I want to acknowledge all of our staff, especially from Metro North Oral Health Services, for their agility to move across service lines at the forefront of the COVID-19 response.<\/p>\n

Your work, over the past two years has been inspirational, selfless and committed. Thank you for continuing efforts putting our patients and community at the centre of what we do.<\/p>\n

At the end of the first quarter of 2022, we saw many of our Oral Health staff returning to their positions, and also the finalisation of our work in Hotel Quarantine Management.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Halwyn Centre successfully obtained full accreditation compliance during its recent NDIS accreditation audit.
\nA good quality system is about being accreditation ready every day and has taken a significant amount of work to remedy a number of challenges.
\nCongratulations to all of our Halwyn staff who are working every day to maintain the high standards of care and service delivery to our residents.
\nIn addition, we have seen the extension of geriatric assessment and management services, within the Post Acute Care Service thanks to Care4Qld program funding aimed at providing more care at home.<\/p>\n

We are also undertaking a very exciting three-month trial with Community Transition Care Program involving a volunteer phone service for patients which aims to reduce the impact of social isolation especially in this difficult period.<\/p>\n

Our Complex Chronic Disease team are also doing great things by increasing access to cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.<\/p>\n

I hope you enjoy this edition of the Community and Oral Health Express for 2022 which captures a lot of the important work that has been done in the first quarter of this year.<\/p>\n
