Far from being a \u2018day off\u2019, Anzac Day is a specific time that I am able to reflect on my own Military Service (25 years in the permanent Navy and now the part-time\/reserve force for the past 7 years) and join the nation in reflecting on Australians that have served for and alongside our nation and remembering those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.<\/h4>\n

Across Brisbane and the South East there are numerous opportunities to be involved in Anzac Day commemoration services. For those that will be at work on Anzac Day, there are opportunities to pause and reflect.<\/p>\n

This Anzac Day, I particularly reflect on the Gallipoli campaign, which is where the young nations of Australia and New Zealand were blooded in the crucible of war, where a military legend was born, where many believe our national identities were forged, and most definitely where the unshakeable bond between our two countries was formed. Anzac losses were around ten and a half thousand with another 25,000 Anzacs wounded. Many of these losses \/ wounded were healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n
