Hi everyone,<\/p>\n

In the past few weeks Metro North has achieved a Queensland Health first. STARS is the first new public hospital in Queensland to open as a digital hospital from day one.\u00a0\u00a0This is a remarkable achievement when we consider the hospital has not only gone live with ieMR but close to 300 digital systems and platforms.<\/p>\n

Many staff have been involved in months of planning, developing, building, testing, and implementing systems as well as supporting the team in STARS to open their hospital. It is great to see the enthusiasm with which STARS staff have been adapting to new systems and ways of working.\u00a0\u00a0Ongoing digital training will be supported by our Queensland Digital Academy which will provide profession specific courses.<\/p>\n

As the vaccine roll out across Metro North commences next week, Digital Metro North has been working with the State COVID Taskforce to support a registration process to cater for the large number of people to be vaccinated in phase 1a which will include a large cohort of our front line airport, hotel quarantine and hospital workers.\u00a0There have been 50 nursing staff, 17 administration officers and 4 pharmacists trained in a workflow using the ieMR to record the vaccination.<\/p>\n

I am also pleased to share the news this week that we celebrated our third graduating cohort of staff to achieve CHIA certification. Twenty-five staff from across Metro North are now new Certified Health Informaticians of Australasia, enabling our Health Service to strengthen our digital transformation capability.<\/p>\n
