Directorate<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>Here&#8217;s some great news!<\/h4>\n<h4>At 7am tomorrow morning (Wednesday 17 August), Metro North Health will move to a Tier 2 response in our COVID-19 and Influenza Response Plan.<\/h4>\n<p>This is based on a continued reduction in active COVID-19 and influenza patients, as well as greatly reduced numbers of furloughed staff. Key differences under Tier 2 include resuming:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outpatient care (both in person and virtual)<\/li>\n<li>Category 1 elective surgery and Category 4 endoscopies (day surgery and 23-hour patients)<\/li>\n<li>Long waits in\u00a0Categories 2, 3, 5 and 6.<\/li>\n<li>Meetings and education can resume but the preference remains strongly via virtual delivery, primarily Microsoft Teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PPE requirements will also step down tomorrow to moderate risk. In most clinical areas, this means staff can wear a flat surgical mask. There is no change to eyewear requirements.<\/p>\n<p>However, P2\/N95 masks and eyewear will still be required in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit<\/li>\n<li>Wards where COVID-19\u00a0patients are cohorted together<\/li>\n<li>Single\u00a0rooms with\u00a0COVID-19 positive patients (or\u00a0close contact patients)<\/li>\n<li>For essential workers during the quarantine period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/c0mf6\/4611\/22cn5fAV.obZrFnqL.QsKgTCbgaeKQgt13Y8Oy2f.pdf\">For more details on Tier 2 requirements, visit the Metro North Extranet page.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Staff\u00a0COVID-19 vaccination clinic this week<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/c0mf6\/4608\/22cn5fAV.obZrFnqL.QsgLbdLyKqRitVbPl8aeNw.html\">Book<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/comms.health.qld.gov.au\/ch\/92002\/c0mf6\/4608\/22cn5fAV.obZrFnqL.QsgLbdLyKqRitVbPl8aeNw.html\"> online<\/a> to have your<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>have a third or fourth COVID-19 vaccination dose at Caboolture Hospital this week (Pfizer only). Please bring your Medicare card.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccinations will be given at the Education Centre Library:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tomorrow (Wednesday 17 August): 7.30am to 3pm<\/li>\n<li>Thursday (18 August): 8am to 5pm<\/li>\n<li>Friday (19 August):\u00a07.30am to 3pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kilcoy and Woodford staff &#8211; please speak with NUMs Annette Tones and Ruth Aley respectively for your facility options.<\/p>\n<h3>Register your additional COVID-19\u00a0vaccination\u00a0doses<\/h3>\n<p>Please register your additional COVID-19 vaccination doses.
