When and how should I urgently seek medical attention?<\/h2>\n

If you’re unsure whether it’s a dental emergency, try this\u00a0teeth and dental symptom checker<\/a>. Always seek dental treatment when a dental emergency occurs to improve the chance of saving the tooth or teeth and preventing infections occurring or becoming more serious.<\/p>\n

For emergency dental care call the Oral Health Call Centre on 1300 300 850<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please do not present to clinics without an appointment.<\/p>\n

Outside of dental clinic\/service hours, call 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our dedicated patient clinics are modern, fresh and purpose-built, offering exceptional dental treatment and care for all members of the family.<\/p>\n

Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of dentists and dental specialists, dental technicians, oral health therapists and dental assistants.<\/p>\n

Dental treatment at the OHC is primarily provided by undergraduate and postgraduate students from the UQ School of Dentistry under the supervision of a senior, experienced dentist.<\/p>\n

Specialist dental treatment <\/strong>is provided at OHC for teaching and training purposes only. Access to this care depends on the training needs of the course and only suitable cases will be accepted for treatment. Students are learning and therefore the appointments and overall time for treatment may be longer than usual.<\/p>\n

An SMS reminder will be sent to you 2 days before your appointment.<\/p>\n

If you are running late for your appointment, please call us on 1800 865 085 <\/strong>to let us know. If you arrive 15 minutes late or more, we may not be able to see you.<\/p>\n

When you arrive for your appointment go to reception to tell them you\u2019re here. You may be asked to show your concession card.<\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t make your appointment tell us at least a day before your appointment (if possible) so we can offer the slot to another patient. You can contact us on 1800 865 085. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>You may be discharged from the OHC is you have missed 2 appointments without letting us know.<\/p>\n

The Oral Health Centre Patient Clinics are located at UQ\u2019s Herston campus, at 288 Herston Road (corner of Bramston Terrace and Herston Road), Herston.<\/p>\n

On-street parking is available along Herston Road and Gilchrist Avenue. Time limits and parking meters may apply. Off-street paid parking is available in the\u00a0\u00a0STARS Hospital Car Park<\/a>\u00a0296 Herston Road Herston.<\/p>\n

The nearest public transport option is the Herston Bus Station which is across the road from the OHC.<\/p>\n"}]},{"expect_content":[{"heading":"Payment ","content":"

Most care at the OHC is free for patients with concessions.<\/p>\n

There are some treatments e.g., implants, crowns, bridges and braces, where you need to pay some of the cost as these treatments are not funded by the public health system.<\/p>\n

You will be told if a treatment has a cost before the treatment and will need to agree to it and sign a financial consent form.<\/p>\n
