There is no doubt that there will be anxiety over the move for many people. Please talk to us about your concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, this is a move in the right direction because:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A patient\u2019s transfer to the ward is always carefully planned. The patient will be placed in the best position for observation and treatment.<\/li>\n<li>There is generally less noise and fewer interventions on the ward. This means patients will have a better routine of night time sleep.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"23.571\" data-lineheight=\"28.2833px\">On the ward<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Nurses on the ward care for up to 4 patients at a time. Please understand that your family member has been moved to the ward because they no longer need the higher level of nursing observation.<\/li>\n<li>This is a time when you can become more active in the patient\u2019s care. You can help with feeding, reading and providing positive company for your loved one.<\/li>\n<li>Social workers can help you cope with the stress of hospitalisation as well as provide strategies for dealing with longer term issues.<\/li>\n<li>Find out more about <a href=\"https:\/\/metronorth.health.qld.gov.au\/rbwh\/patients-and-visitors\/your-stay\">general\u00a0hospital services<\/a>\u00a0such as meal times, general visiting hours and laundry services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"23.571\" data-lineheight=\"28.2833px\">Leaving hospital<\/h3>\n<p>Decisions regarding discharge from hospital will be made by the medical team responsible for the patient\u2019s care in the ward.
