What to expect
An ultrasound uses sound waves to capture live images of your internal body structures onto a screen. It is commonly used to monitor:
- pregnancy (not available at STARS)
- blood vessels
- joints and tendons
- soft tissues
- internal organs including the liver, gall bladder, kidneys and reproductive organs.
