This presentation will explore the growing importance of machine learning algorithms and introduce a checklist to assist in deciding if an algorithm is ready for use in routine practice.

Professor Ian Scott MBBS, FRACP, MHA, MEd
Ian Scott is a consultant, general physician and Director of Internal Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He is also the Professor of Medicine at the University of Queensland and currently chairs the Queensland Statewide General Medicine Clinical Network. He has research interests in evidence-based medicine and health services improvement. He sits on committees of RACP, Queensland Health and the Australian Commission on Quality and Safety in Health Care. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles and is a recipient of several NHMRC and government research grants.
