Thesis title: The temporal profiles of microcirculatory function and coagulopathy following traumatic shock and resuscitation in a porcine model
Thesis Summary: Tissue perfusion following trauma and resuscitation is an important determinant of organ function following injury. Compromise of tissue perfusion after trauma due to microcirculatory dysfunction is associated with adverse outcomes in trauma cohorts. This works aims to characterise the temporal profiles of microcirculatory function in the acute period after trauma, and in response to resuscitation with saline or fresh frozen plasma in a porcine injury model.
