Dr Juliane (Jules) Kampe

Originally from Germany, Dr Juliane (Jules) Kampe has recently returned to Australia after more than a decade at the Helmholtz Association — one of Europe’s largest research organizations. Her background bridges academic research and science leadership: she completed her PhD and postdoctoral fellowship in Metabolic Neuroscience at Monash University in Melbourne before moving into research management, strategic partnerships and organisational development in Germany.

Jules is passionate about connecting people, ideas and opportunities to strengthen research impact and collaboration. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with scientists, clinicians, government stakeholders, funding bodies and industry partners, leading international consortia, coordinating major evaluation processes in biomedical research environments. She particularly enjoys working at the interface of science, strategy and innovation, where diverse perspectives overlap to create meaningful outcomes.

Now part of the Jamieson Trauma Institute at RBWH, Jules is excited to contribute to the Institute’s growing research ecosystem and finding new opportunities to collaborate locally and internationally — particularly between Australia, Germany and Europe. Whether you’re a collaborator, a fellow researcher, or simply curious about what the institute is working on – she is always happy to hear from you (preferably over coffee ☕).
