Associate Professor Susanna Cramb

Associate Professor Susanna Cramb is a Biostatistician at Jamieson Trauma Institute, an NHMRC Emerging Leader Research Fellow and a Principal Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science; QUT), Graduate Certificate of Science (Statistics; UQ), Master of Public Health & Tropical Medicine (JCU), and PhD in Biostatistics (QUT). Susanna collaborates extensively with both non-government and government agencies to ensure uptake and impact from her research.

Susanna’s research specialty is applying advanced modelling techniques to investigate health inequities, especially across small areas and time. Her cancer mapping work has received prestigious industry awards and directly informed government policy. Susanna has been recognised for her excellence in research and scientific outreach with multiple awards, including the Queensland Women in STEM prize (Judges’ award) in 2024 and Queensland Young Tall Poppy award in 2020.

Susanna leads the HERO (Health Equity Research with Outcomes) research group, comprised of her past and present students. She has over 15 years’ experience in epidemiological research, and has developed new statistical models and methods.
