Car parking is changing at Caboolture Hospital

Patients, families and staff at Caboolture Hospital can look forward to new and improved car parking with a new multi-storey car park to open in mid-2023.

With data showing around 80 per cent of hospital patients and visitors park for two hours or less, most who use the new car park will pay $5 or less per visit.

When the project is complete, the multi-storey car park will provide more than 1000 parking spaces – including motorcycle parking and electric vehicle charging stations – and ensure car parking capacity is in line with the major expansion.

As with all hospitals in South East Queensland, Caboolture Hospital will transition to paid parking across the campus once the multi-storey car park opens.

Because Metro North Health will own and operate the car park, every dollar collected from parking fees will come back into the public health system.

Those fees will help pay for the car park’s construction, as well as ongoing operations and maintenance of the car park, without needing to divert funding away from clinical services.

Concessions will be available for people who are experiencing financial hardship, who need to attend hospital frequently, who attend for an extended period of time, or who have special needs and require assistance. Metro North Health’s concession policy is available online.

The parking rates will be the same as similar size hospitals in the outer metropolitan area, including Redcliffe Hospital and Logan Hospital. This fee structure is determined by Queensland Health and the State Government.

It will always be free to drop off and pick up patients from the hospital by using the designated drop-off zones.

Hospital staff will also have access to a staff rate as part of the tariff structure.
