Dr Kowsalya Murugappan

Consultant Breast & Endocrine Surgeon RBWH

Dr Kowsi Murugappan is an Australian-trained Breast and Endocrine Surgeon. She obtained her Medical Degree at Monash University and then completed her General Surgical training at the Austin Hospital and Monash Health. After completing her Breast and Endocrine fellowships, she accepted a staff specialist position at the RBWH. In collaboration with UQCCR, Dr Murugappan has designed and developed the prospective Clinical Breast Cancer Database for the RBWH. She has continued to indulge her passion for clinical teaching and research in her role as Senior Lecturer with UQ. She is currently involved in clinical trials and research projects. Over the years, Dr Murugappan has proven to be a compassionate and dedicated Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon providing high quality of care for women diagnosed with breast cancer. She values the personalised surgical care of patients with breast cancer in a multidisciplinary team environment.
