Dr Jason Brown
Clinical Lead, Burns Surgery & Director, Adult Burns Centre RBWH
Jason is a consultant burns and general surgeon at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), A/Director of the Professor Stuart Pegg Adult Burns Centre, and A/Chief Digital Health Officer, Metro North. Jason is the leader of a diverse multi-disciplinary surgical team consisting of nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, social workers, medical clinicians and trainees, and other sub-specialist clinicians. The primary goal of this diverse team is to navigate a safe and optimal recovery for the injured burn patient.
Jason is leading industry collaboration trials at the RBWH, scar treatment programs using laser and vacuum therapies, and scar assessment by MRI. He sees the Burns, Skin & Wounds Clinical Program as providing a unique and valuable vehicle to drive innovation through inter-disciplinary partnerships and collaborations. Biofabrication will impact the treatment and outcomes of burn patients in Queensland.
