Lauren Drabwell

Biomedical Engineer

Lauren is a biomedical engineer working on medical device production and regulatory compliance. She has completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Science at QUT, with majors in medical engineering and physics. Her current work includes patient-matched medical devices, custom-made devices and technical file development across Class I-IIb devices.

Her time with HBI began with a Work Integrated Learning placement, working with the Cancer Care program to develop breast lumpectomy and brachytherapy training models. Additionally, her honours project focused on improvement of 3D facial scan workflows for personalised medical device production. She also collaborated with the UQ team on the Wellcome Leap abdominal laparoscopic training model project.
