Queensland Trauma and Burns Quality Assurance Committee

In a confidential forum, Statewide Stakeholders in trauma care have the opportunity and freedom to discuss issues and put forward recommendations for optimal trauma care across the state.

  • Identify through case review, opportunities for improvement in the management of patients with traumatic and burn injury in Queensland. The Committee discuss issues, provide feedback and evidence-based recommendations and actions aimed at improving health outcomes.
  • Remote, rural and regional areas of Queensland as a special focus for management of trauma and burn injured patients as well as the major urban health service districts.
  • Recommendations may be supported by:
    • Educational aspects / Symposiums
    • Adaption or Establishment of Policy or Clinical Management Guidelinesl
    • Advancement of Telehealth and other technical advances
    • Initiates Projects / Communications to support recommendations
  • Disciplines represented within the Committee from across Queensland include: Surgical Disciplines, Qld Ambulance Service, Retrieval Services Queensland, Physiotherapy, Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, General Practice, Paediatrics, Rehabilitation, Legal Representatives, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Consumer representatives.
