JTI Annual Showcase

The 2026 JTI Showcase brought together clinicians, researchers, partners and consumers for an evening focused on the growing complexity of trauma care. Speakers highlighted JTI’s achievements over the past year, the importance of collaboration and digital innovation, and unveiled InjurIQ, a new linked data platform demonstrating the significant burden injury places on Queensland’s health system. The most impactful moments came from lived‑experience speakers, whose stories emphasised the emotional, social and long‑term challenges of trauma recovery, as well as the need for coordinated care and access to appropriate technology. Clinicians discussed complexities across the trauma journey—from infection management and mental health needs to the extensive demands of rehabilitation—and introduced the new Major Injury Survivors and Support Community (MISC) to strengthen peer‑supported recovery. The event also celebrated the release of a global outcome measurement set for major injury and concluded with the presentation of the Cliff Pollard Award to Dr Akmez Latona, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing trauma care.
