Director of JTI appointed as Chairman of the AO Technology Transfer Board

Michael would like to see his role within the AO Technology Transfer Board as an opportunity for QUT, Metro North Hospital and Health Service to strengthen international connections and draw on the expertise while considering translational projects with the aim for valorization.

RBWH/ QUT, Metro North Hospital and Health Service would like to congratulate Professor Michael Schuetz, Director of the Jamieson Trauma Institute and Chair of Trauma, QUT on his appointment as the Chairman of the AO Technology Transfer Board based in Zurich / CH.

For more than 60 years the AO Foundation has been a leader in surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. In partnership with industry, the AO Foundation has seen many innovations and medical devices through development and into standard treatment practices around the world.

The AO Technology Transfer Board calls for applications on a regular basis and use a defined selection process to fund innovative projects from the Proof of Concept Stage into CE / FDA approval.

The Board consists of experts from various fields out of Medical Innovation (USA), Research (Germany), VC & Investment (Israel), Business Development (Singapore) and Medical Device Development (Switzerland).
