Acute General Medical Care

Kilcoy Hospital care for people who have acute medical episodes. The hospital team works closely with retrieval services and to help stabilise or treat patients involved in major medical or trauma events until they are able to be transported to another hospital.

Acute general medical care includes intravenous antibiotics, pain control and monitoring/managing severe cardiac episodes. The team takes a holistic approach to the treatment Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM) patients, getting them stable and into a medical space where they can be safely discharged to a home environment.
