What challenges exist with current treatments?
Transcript
We know with conventional implants that they will all fail eventually for one reason or another. For some of the reconstructive procedures, there’s often some morbidity associated with performing those procedures.
Jaw is a great example where we use a piece of bone from the leg to reconstruct the jaw. That’s a really long operation.
It also involves some downgrade of function, whereby the patient is unable to walk for a period of time and sometimes has some longer-term problems with their mobilizing as well.
