Dr Deniz Erbulut

Senior Research Fellow
Deniz Erbulut received his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2010, developing advanced manufacturing technologies. Following faculty appointments in the United States and Turkey, he joined the Herston Biofabrication Institute as a Senior Research Fellow in 2020.
With over a decade of experience in biomechanics addressing clinically relevant challenges, his research integrates experimental and computational methods to advance understanding of in vivo and in vitro joint mechanics, human motion analysis, musculoskeletal modelling, computational biomechanics, and the design and testing of spinal and orthopaedic implants.
Dr Erbulut holds three orthopaedic implant patents in the United States and across multiple European jurisdictions. He has served as principal investigator on several projects, taught undergraduate and graduate courses in biomedical and mechanical engineering, and supervised Master’s and PhD candidates as principal advisor.
