Johnathan drives strategic growth and operational excellence at the Herston Biofabrication Institute, leading initiatives that advance personalised medical device development and point-of-care services. He sets the Institute’s strategic direction, manages complex operations, and forges partnerships with industry, academia, and health services to accelerate translational research and clinical innovation.

With over a decade of experience in engineering and leadership roles, Johnathan has delivered more than 2,000 customised solutions for craniomaxillofacial surgery, collaborating with over 100 surgeons worldwide. He has presented at international conferences, authored training programs for biomedical engineers, provided specialist education to consultants and registrars, and established entire personalised engineering services departments. Johnathan holds a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, the Foundations of Directorship Certificate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is a registered professional engineer (NER & RPEQ), and chairs Engineers Australia’s Biomedical College Queensland Branch.
