Accommodation and travel
If you live in a rural or remote area and need to travel more than 50km for specialist medical services not available locally, you may be eligible for the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) to help with your travel and accommodation costs.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander hospital service
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander hospital service supports and advocates for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their support persons through their hospital journey to, during and after hospital. We work with patients and families to make sure the appropriate care and support is given.
Interpreter services
At Metro North Health, we provide FREE interpreter and translation services in various languages including AUSLAN and First Nations with native speakers.
