Site Activity Update – Fortnight commencing 1 November 2021

Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Plant site
Ongoing construction activities:
- Installation of Level 2 and 3 suspended slabs. Works include scaffold erection, formwork placement, reo installation and concrete pouring.
- Installation of precast floor beams and planks for internal hospital access road.
- Concrete pours for lift and stair cores.
- Installation of inground services.
- Continuing fitout and façade installation.
- Detailed excavation on the western side of the construction site.
What to expect:
- The Clinical Services Building construction site will operate on Saturday, 6 November, between 6am and 5pm.
Road line marking, McKean Street intersection
Finalisation of road line markings to McKean Street will be installed week commencing Monday 8 November.
To complete this work safely, a partial lane closure will be in place for approximately one day (weather permitting). The exact date is yet to be confirmed, but will be between Monday, 8 November and Friday, 12 November.
What to expect:
- Partial lane closure on McKean Street with two-way traffic and pedestrian access maintained.
- Traffic controllers safely directing pedestrians and vehicles through the work zone (where required).
- Reduced speed limit along McKean Street.
- Neighbours may experience some noise during these works. Every effort will be made to minimise noise impacts.
Multi-Storey Carpark site activities
Construction activities:
- Scaffold erection and formwork placement.
- Level 2 concrete pour.
- Formwork, reinforcement, and concrete pouring for stair cores.
- Installation of electrical services.
What to expect:
- Increase in construction activity in this area.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building activities
Construction activities:
- Installation of stormwater and drainage pipes.
- Commencement of substructure activities.
What to expect:
- Increase in construction activity in this area.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
New storage facilities site (western side of hospital campus)
Construction activities:
- Installation of inground services.
- Concrete pour for ground slab.
What to expect:
- To maintain safety, a single lane closure on the hospital ring road, near the existing storage facility will remain in place until mid-November (weather permitting).
- Temporary traffic lights are in place with one-way access maintained. Motorists may experience short delays during this temporary closure period.
- Emergency services’ vehicle access will be prioritised.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
