When you visit the Emergency Department at Caboolture Hospital with a fracture or injury, it’s not just doctors who come to your aid! Physios like Nate play a crucial role in managing injuries and helping you recover. 🦴

"We will assess your injury and determine the best course of action. If you need a plaster cast, we can apply one to stabilise your injury and ensure proper healing," said Nate.

"We also provide you with guidance on managing your injury, including rehabilitation exercises to aid in recovery."

Physios in the ED bring their expertise to ensure you’re comfortable and on the right track for healing. Caboolture Hosptial is looking for a Senior Physiotherapist to join their team, if this sounds like you, apply now! smartjobs.qld.gov.au/jobs/QLD-CAB621737

What happens during an exercise stress test? Kathryn is a Clinical Measurements Scientist at Caboolture Hospital, and she can explain it all!

"An exercise stress test is a diagnostic procedure that helps doctors assess how your heart responds to physical exertion." 💓

Here’s how it works:
You’ll walk or run on a treadmill, which gradually increases in speed and incline.
While you exercise, your heart rate, blood pressure, and ECG are monitored to check for any abnormalities.
The goal is to see how your heart performs under stress—whether there are signs of reduced blood flow or any arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).

Who needs one?
✅ People with unexplained chest pain or discomfort
✅ Those at risk for heart disease (e.g., family history, high cholesterol, diabetes)
✅ Patients experiencing shortness of breath or dizziness.

"It’s a non-invasive test that can provide valuable insights into your heart health". 🩺

If you're concerned about ongoing chest pain or discomfort, contact your GP or if it's an emergency call Triple 0 (000).

"I’m really looking forward to getting home to my wife. She’s been a music teacher for years and is an amazing organist—better than anyone I’ve ever heard. After a long day, I can’t wait to settle in, put on some lovely classical music and just relax. It’s simple, but it’s what makes home feel like home."
