Site Activity Update – Fortnight commencing 26 July 2021

Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Plant site
Ongoing construction activities:
- Installation of a new construction entrance off McKean Street.
- Sections of the ground floor slab complete and progressing with next sections to complete the first floor.
- Installation of precast floor beams and precast planks.
- Concrete pours for lift and stair cores.
- Ongoing installation of services.
- Civil activities including excavation continue on the western side of the clinical services building site.
- Realignment of emergency entry hoarding.
What to expect:
- Temporary footpath closure from Monday 26 July, with pedestrian diversion in place (refer map below), for approximately 2 weeks, weather permitting, during construction of the McKean Street entrance.
- Minor traffic delays during delivery of pre-cast planks.
- Increased construction activity during concrete pours.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
Multi-Storey Carpark site activities
Construction activities:
- Substructure activities continue with lift and stair cores.
- Pile cap trimming.
- Crane base has commenced in preparation for the third tower crane to arrive in late August.
What to expect:
- Increased construction activity and vehicle movements in this area.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building activities

- Preparing site for civil works to commence in mid-August.
What to expect:
- Increase in vehicle movements along the south western side of the hospital campus.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
Construction activities on hospital ring road
Construction Activities
- On the western side of the hospital campus, the installation of drainage services continue.
- These works are being completed in sections and moving progressively along the internal hospital ring road towards McKean Street (weather permitting).
What to expect:
- Excavation works and installation of drainage pipes.
- Single lane road closure of the west bound Bury Street access road, managed with traffic control.
- Temporary removal of carparks along the western side of the Community and Oral Health car park while works are underway.
- Temporary removal of carparks adjacent to the existing sewer pumping station for a temporary generator.
- Construction activity and vehicle movements near the Bury Street end of the hospital campus.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
