Site Activity Update – Fortnight commencing 23 August 2021

Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Plant site

Ongoing construction activities:

  • Installation of the suspended slabs on Level 2. Works include scaffold erection, formwork placement, reo installation and concrete pouring.
  • Installation of precast floor beams, precast planks and topping slabs.
  • Concrete pours for lift and stair cores.
  • Ongoing installation of services.
  • Civil activities on the western side of the site continue.
  • Placement of roadway beams and planks for the internal access road.

What to expect:

  • Increase in vehicles accessing the site via the new construction entrance located on McKean Street (refer map below).
  • A single lane closure along McKean Street will be in place on Saturday, 28 August and Saturday, 4 September for the placement of roadway beams and planks. Two-way traffic will be maintained under traffic control.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Multi-Storey Carpark site activities

Construction activities:

  • Installation of hydraulic and electrical services.
  • Concrete pours for lift and stair cores.
  • Delivery and erection of the third tower crane in early September.

What to expect:

  • Increased construction activity and vehicle movements in this area.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building activities

Construction Activities

  • Commencement of civil activities including excavation and back filling.
  • Installation of a piling pad and piling rig mobilisation.
  • Inground services work.
  • Conduit relocation works to the project site offices located on the south western side of the hospital campus.

What to expect:

  • Increase in heavy vehicle movements along the south western side of the hospital campus.
  • Partial road closure during the floating in of large machinery and during piling pad excavation works. Two-way traffic will be maintained under traffic control.
  • Establishment of exclusion zone in easement area between the BEMS construction site and the Caboolture State High School for piling activities.
  • Temporary power shut down to the project site offices on Saturday, 28 August for the conduit relocations work.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

 Construction activities on the hospital’s internal ring road

Construction Activities

  • Ongoing reinstatement works following the completion of drainage installation on the western side of the hospital campus.

What to expect:

  • Single lane road closure of the west bound Bury Street access road, managed with traffic control.
  • Weekend construction works on Saturday, 28 August to complete the reinstatement works on the western side of the hospital campus.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
