Site Activity Update – Fortnight commencing 15 November 2021

Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Plant site

Ongoing construction activities:

  • Installation of Level 2 and Level 3 suspended slabs. Works include scaffold erection, formwork placement, reo installation and concrete pouring.
  • Installation of precast floor planks.
  • Formwork, reinforcement and concrete pour activities for lift and stair cores.
  • Setout, framing and sheeting activities to full height partition walls.
  • Installation of high-level services including plumbing, air-conditioning vents, fire protection and electrical.
  • Detailed excavation on the western side of the construction site.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Multi-Storey Carpark site activities

Construction activities:

  • Perimeter scaffold erection.
  • Installation of Level 2 suspended slabs.
  • Formwork, reinforcement and concrete pour activities for stair cores.
  • Installation of electrical services.

What to expect:

  • Perimeter encasement scaffold will extend past the height of the ground level hoardings.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Road line marking, McKean Street intersection

Construction activities:

  • Final line marking activities. The exact date for this work is yet to be confirmed but will take approximately one day to complete and will be scheduled between Monday, 15 November and Friday, 19 November (weather permitting).

What to expect:

  • Partial lane closure on the south east of McKean Street with two-way traffic maintained.

Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building activities

Construction activities:

  • Civil infrastructure activities.
  • Installation of inground hydraulics.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

New storage facilities site (western side of hospital campus)

Construction activities:

  • Installation of inground services.
  • Concrete pour for ground slab.

What to expect:

  • To maintain safety, a single lane closure on the hospital ring road, near the existing storage facility will remain in place until mid-November (weather permitting).
  • Temporary traffic lights are in place with one-way access maintained. Motorists may experience short delays during this temporary closure period.
  • Emergency services’ vehicle access will be prioritised.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
