Site Activity Update – Fortnight commencing 29 November 2021

Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Plant sites

Construction activities:

  • Installation of Level 2 and Level 3 suspended slabs. Works include scaffold erection, formwork placement, reo installation and concrete pouring.
  • Formwork, reinforcement and concrete pour activities for lift cores, stair cores and the substation ground slab.
  • Fitout and façade commencement activities including installation of high-level services for plumbing, air-conditioning vents, fire protection and electrical.
  • Detailed excavation on the western side of the construction site for placement of in-ground tanks.

What to expect:

  • The Clinical Services Building construction site will operate on Saturday, 4 and Saturday, 11 December, between 6am and 6pm.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Multi-Storey Carpark site activities

Construction activities:

  • Installation of Level 2 suspended slabs.
  • Ongoing perimeter scaffold erection up to Level 2. 
  • Formwork, reinforcement and concrete pour activities for stair and lift cores.
  • Ongoing installation of electrical services.

What to expect:

  • The Multi-Storey Carpark construction site will operate on Saturday, 4 and Saturday, 11 December, between 6am and 6pm.
  • Perimeter scaffold will extend past the height of the ground level hoardings.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building activities

Construction activities:

  • Excavation and installation of ground beams.
  • Civil infrastructure activities including drainage works.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.

New storage facilities site (western side of hospital campus)

Construction activities:

  • Installation of concrete blade columns.
  • Continued installation of inground services.

What to expect:

  • To maintain safety, a single lane closure on the hospital ring road, near the existing storage facility will remain in place until early December (weather permitting).
  • Temporary traffic lights are in place with one-way access maintained. Motorists may experience short delays (maximum waiting time of one minute) during this temporary closure period.
  • Emergency services’ vehicle access will be prioritised.
  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
