Thank you for subscribing to receive weekly site activity updates.

Enabling works continue on the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project as preparations are made for major construction activity to commence in the coming months. The project hotline, 1300 144 425 remains operational and our team can be contacted anytime at CabooltureHospital@Lendlease.com

What is happening over the coming week?

Changes to pedestrian movement (August – October 2020)

As part of the redevelopment works, additional footpaths and directional signage will be implemented around the hospital grounds to ensure safe and convenient access for pedestrians.

A section of the McKean Street footpath, adjacent to the front of the hospital main entry, will close during August for approximately two weeks (weather permitting) while Unity Water undertake main water works. During this time, pedestrians entering the hospital campus via McKean Street will need to enter from the western end, traversing past Mental Health to the hospital’s main entry.

Please follow directions of the school crossing supervisor during school hours and be mindful that the crossing on McKean Street is not a permanent zebra crossing, so take care when crossing the road.

What to expect:

  • Some pedestrian and traffic diversion within the hospital grounds and along McKean Street.
  • New footpath opening out the front of the Caboolture Private Hospital.
  • Partial road closures to accommodate services works along select footpaths.

New access to Emergency Department and changes to parking (August 2020 – September 2020)

A new entry road and a temporary emergency carpark is being constructed off McKean Street to ensure emergency vehicles, including ambulances, and emergency patient drop-off is maintained throughout the construction period.

Both the new entry road off McKean Street and emergency carpark are being constructed in the public carpark at the front of the hospital.

Works will include:

  • Minor roadworks and sealing
  • Installation of two additional ambulance bays and four new emergency services’ parking spaces
  • Installation of new footpaths
  • Saw cutting and excavation.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration during excavation phase
  • Some pedestrian and traffic diversion along McKean Street
  • Changes to emergency department entry, drop-off and parking.

Temporary changes to Caboolture Hospital main entry (September 2020)

From late September 2020, a new temporary main entry into Caboolture Hospital and public parking will be moved to the rear of the hospital.

Non-urgent patients and visitors arriving by car should enter the hospital grounds via the All Weather Access Road off Mewett Street or via Bury Street.

The temporary main entry includes a new patient drop-off/pick-up zone, a volunteer’s booth and directional signage that will ensure people of all abilities can safely and easily navigate the new entry point.

Emergency patient drop-off, including mothers in active labour, will still be located at the front of the hospital with vehicle access off McKean Street.

Works will include:

  • Construction of a new drop-off/pick-up zone, a covered walkway and a volunteer’s booth
  • Installation of new footpaths to accommodate the temporary main entry
  • Installation of new street lighting and security cameras.

What to expect:

  • Minimal disruption to nearby neighbours
  • Some traffic diversions will be in place throughout September.

New intersection works at McKean Street (August 2020 – February 2021)

Work continues along McKean Street to prepare for a new signalised intersection that will service the Caboolture Hospital site. Construction activity currently taking place includes:

  • Relocation of the bus stop (ID 310304) on McKean Street
  • Permanent removal of on-street parking
  • Installation of a new water main
  • Installation of new footpaths.

What to expect:

  • Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration during excavation phase
  • Some pedestrian and traffic diversion along McKean Street
  • Two-way traffic will always be maintained.
