Site Activity Update – Week Commencing 21 September

Thank you for subscribing to receive weekly site activity updates.

Enabling works on the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project continue as preparations are made for major construction activity to commence in the coming months. The project hotline, 1300 144 425 remains operational and our team can be contacted anytime at CabooltureHospital@Lendlease.com

With important changes taking place this week, we felt it called for a special edition!

From today (21/09), the main entry into Caboolture Hospital has now relocated to the back of the hospital to make way for the new clinical services building and the new multi-storey carpark. This new entry point will then remain in position until project completion in 2022.

What is happening?

ATTENTION: From 21 September 2020, the main entry into Caboolture Hospital will relocate to the back of the hospital.

What to expect:

  • All non-urgent patients, visitors and staff will enter through the Temporary Main Entry, which includes a new patient drop-off/pick-up zone, a volunteers booth, a food truck, maps and directional signage.
  • As part of this change, public carparking will also be relocated to the rear of the hospital.
  • Patients and visitors arriving by car should enter the hospital via the All Weather Access Road off Mewett Street and continue past the Temporary Staff Carpark. The public carpark can also be accessed via Bury Street.
  • Emergency patient drop off, including dropping off mothers in active labour, will still be located at the front of the hospital with vehicle access from McKean Street.

Dropping Off or Picking Up Non-Urgent Passengers

The main entry is now located at the back of Caboolture Hospital. It includes a patient drop-off/pick-up zone and directional signage to ensure safe and easy access to the hospital.

If you are dropping off or picking up passengers, there is a covered pick-up/drop-off area at the new main entry.

This drop-off zone can be accessed via the All Weather Access Road off Mewett Street.

All transport and patient transfer companies have been directed to use the new main entry for all non-urgent passengers.

Directional signage is in place to provide guidance for people visiting the hospital. Should you have any concerns or questions regarding access please contact the hospital prior to your arrival.

Dropping Off Emergency Patients

Emergency drop-off will still be located at the front of the hospital with vehicle access via a new road off McKean Street.

A new emergency drop-off/pick-up zone and short-term carpark (15 minutes) has been installed alongside the existing public carpark out the front of the hospital. Vehicle access to the front of the hospital, via the Hospital Ring Road, is no longer available.

A new walkway is being installed which connects the new emergency carpark to the front entry of the hospital.

Changes to Staff and Public Carparks

Car parking is provided for patients, visitors and staff on the hospital grounds. To accommodate the new main entry into the hospital, a new Public Carpark, reserved for patients and visitors only, has been established at the back of Caboolture Hospital, alongside the new main entry.

The new Public Carpark can be accessed via the All Weather Access Road off Mewett Street or via Bury Street.

All hospital staff are required to park in the designated staff carparks.

All car parking within the hospital grounds is free.

Demolition activities near the Caboolture Hospital main entry

Demolition of the fire stair at the hospital main entrance will commence in the coming days after a delay in works due to in ground issues and will continue intermittently over the next couple of weeks.. Control measures will be in place to minimise noise, dust and vibration disruptions as much as possible.

What to expect:

  • Increase in construction activity including demolition, saw cutting and excavation
  • Excessive noise, dust and vibration
  • Minor delays due to traffic changes and truck movement around the construction site.
