Meet Dr Brett and Dr Marjan, psychiatry registrars at Caboolture Hospital who bring global expertise and compassionate care to the community! 🌏💙
Dr Brett, from Canada and Dr Marjan, from Iran, are part of the unique Psychiatry training program that emphasises learning, reflection, and self-care.
"The team is dedicated to giving patients that extra bit of time and humane, accessible mental health care for everyone," said Dr Marjan.
"I feel that giving people that extra 1-2 minutes can have a profound effect on their health trajectories," Dr Brett added.
"Psychiatrist stems from the Greek roots of psyche = soul/mind & iatros = doctor. So, being a ‘soul-doctor’ is a rather fun goal in life," he said.

For Caboolture Hospital nurse Eric, a passion for learning and supporting others has defined his nursing journey. Trained in the USA, Eric practised there for ten years before coming to Australia. 🌏
"I love nursing. I'm passionate about a positive work environment and providing our patients with the best experience possible, even if it means dropping a cheeky Dad joke," says Eric.
Not only is he the FOCH (Face of Caboolture Hospital) featured on the hospital's website, Eric has appeared on A Current Affair taking the blood pressure of a reporter.🎬
This year, Eric has continued to expand his skills, completing the first year of a postgraduate diploma in Leadership and Management and studying Japanese at UQ’s Institute of Modern Languages.
"My greatest satisfaction in nursing is when I hear a staff member say, " Go ask Eric, he will know."
Have met Eric a few times as a patient and he has been fantastic 👌
