Site activity update – Monday 17 to Saturday 29 October 2022
Ongoing permanent power connection works for the new Clinical Services Building – between McKean Street and Jensen Road
The underboring works for the new power supply connection are now completed. The next phase of works is pulling new underground cables and reinstatements works between the McKean Street roundabout and the substation on Jensen Road.
What to expect:
- Reduced speed limits, partial lane closures and footpath diversions along Pettigrew Street, Lindwall Street and Jensen Road as required to maintain safety for motorists and pedestrians.
- All works will take place within road reserves.
- Traffic controllers safely directing pedestrians and vehicles through the work zones.
- Every effort will be made to minimise construction impacts during these works.
Clinical Services Building and Central Energy Building sites
Construction activities:
- Ongoing installation of hydraulics, mechanical, fire protection, electrical services and lifts.
- Ongoing façade installation.
- Internal wall framing and sheeting on Levels 2,3 and 4.
- Ceiling installation on Level 1
- Floor finishes, painting and waterproofing activities on Levels 1 and 2.
- Ongoing blockwork, joinery, and plant room wall cladding to Level 5.
- Ongoing façade screen bracket install.
- Blockwork activities for the Central Energy Building.
- Demolition activities to existing Common Good kitchen.
- Scaffold dismantle activities.
What to expect:
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
Multi-Storey Carpark site
Construction activities:
- Formwork, reinforcement and concrete pours for external ramps.
- Façade screening and crash barrier installation
- Preparations for tower crane removal, currently planned for Saturday 29 October.
What to expect:
- Tower crane removal on Saturday 29 October.
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) Building site (southern side of the hospital campus)
Construction activities:
- Scaffold and blockwork installation.
- Structural steel infill activities.
What to expect:
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
New storage facilities site (western side of hospital campus)
Construction activities:
- Water tank filling.
- Kerb, line marking and fencing installation.
- Realignment of construction hoarding around the existing tank.
What to expect:
- Neighbours may experience some noise, dust and vibration impacts. Every effort will be made to minimise these impacts.
Loading Dock extension works (southern side of hospital campus)
Construction activities:
- Install bollards and reinstatement of bitumen.
- Delivery and installation of the temporary mortuary.
What to expect:
- Increased construction activity and vehicle movements on the southern side of the hospital campus, near the public carpark.
